HST Connector
Harvard—MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology
Among the most brilliant medical researchers in the world are graduates of this unique joint effort between MIT and Harvard Medical School.
Even the world's geniuses are not the best at marketing. We were asked to help HST develop their own image and do a better job with publications of all kinds. We held a de facto seat on their publications committee for over a year and continue to help with promotional posters, newsletters and more.
We gave the division its first real logotype, named their newsletter and turned it from an average homegrown, photocopy job into a rather stylish quarterly feature.
Among the other projects for HST, we produced a stunning 4x9-foot full-color poster for their reception area at MIT.
We also produced a special 4-page insert to the MIT newspaper Tech Talk for graduation in 1998 when President Clinton spoke alongside a famous HST graduate, Time magazine's 1996 Man-of-the-Year Dr. David Ho, who challenged the belief that the HIV virus remains dormant in a body for some time after infection and led to fundamental change in battling the disease.
